Good things come to those who wait!

Or in my case.... yay, I've finally got round to sorting out the giveaway I wanted to do at the start of September and its already now the 14th!!!

Still busy back at work and still no camera since my beloved digital camera died!
I don't want to rush out and buy just anything but not got round to looking for a good camera with a good deal, so on a dark evening I managed to get fairly decent photos from my phone.

SO YES IT IS FINALLY HERE!! ITS GIVEAWAY TIME!!

I am offering one lovely reader all the goodies I have managed to squeeze into this little suitcase!

There is fabric, buttons, ribbons, scented thread, and a lovely bit of wool felt.

So to be in with a chance I'm mixing things up this giveaway and giving you the option of having more than one entry! Woohoo!

Each of the following will get you one entry into the draw:
1. Leave a comment - just say hi!
2. Become a follower of my little blog! Go on give it a try! (If you're a follower already you'll get automatic entry, as long as I can contact you!)
3. Share the love and hopefully my blog button and add a link to your blog! (Only thing you will need to let me know if you have done this - not sure how else I can check!)

So if all that makes sense, come say hi! Entry is open to international readers and I will pick a winner next Monday! Please make sure that there is some way I can contact you! I get lots of lovely emails but sometimes there is no reply address.

So have fun,

Stationery love

Apologies - it's been nearly a week since my last post! Slacking now I'm back at work! I will get round to doing the giveaway by the end of the week!!

In the mean time loving a new stationery or Sushi-nery set I could not resist for 50p at the Charity shop! Brand new, cute fun designs! Think it might be used more as design paper rather than writing paper as writing letters seems to be a lost art!

**YAWN**

That's what the first day back at work does to me!
I can't even think of a title for this post - how bad is that!

Only bit of news for this post today is that very late last night not being able to sleep I did update my blog list! Yep that's it keep scrolling down and you'll find it! All those lovely blogs and people, go and visit!
Plus if you're not on the list you can't come in!
Only joking - if you're not on the list I've not come across your blog so please come and say hello!

Its arrived!

No not a shiny new sewing machine, or a lovely stash of fabric or even a winning lottery ticket! But the end of the Summer holidays, which means I have to go and do something called "work"!

I was going to organise a giveaway today, I've got all the goodies ready but have not got round to sorting it all out and taking nice photos. So that will be put on hold until the end of the week. I PROMISE!

In preparation for back to school even us teachers need to get some nice back to school goodies and being a bit of a stationary addict these managed to come home with me from the shops somehow?!

Lots of new folders and yes more sticky notes!

This filing box was only £3 - love it!

I hope to post tomorrow, depends on how high the stress levels get!

A different kind of button!

Rather than doing some work in preparation for real work on Wednesday I've been playing around with my blog!
Procrastination or what!!
But I'm so chuffed I managed to make my own button! Yay!

Pink Stitches

I wanted to do this for my post tomorrow so hopefully it works! It's a bit smaller than I wanted but hey hopefully its OK. If anyone wants to know how to do this I will try and explain in as plain as English as possible. Let me know!

Dear Santa

It's a Bank holiday weekend! That's why its raining outside.
September arrives on Tuesday! Where did the Summer go?
School/work starts back next week!! Must stock up on my back to school stationary!

So what better a time than to think about Christmas!
In fact a Christmas wish list. Santa I am being good!

Usually there are a range of great crafty books that I would love for Christmas, you just need to see my bookcase for past evidence. This year however there is something that has already caught my eye. Reason being it includes lots of lovely projects by lots of lovely people that I have happened to have come across or have been in contact with through this blog! Such as Pink Penguin!

Looks like so much fun and is available in the UK!!

Take one glass bottle ...

A spare half an hour and hey presto you'll have this little lovely!
I've been hoarding glass bottles with this project in mind for a while and I managed to get some mosaic type stickers from a local craft store, I wasn't to keen on glass painting!

So here we go:
Wash and dry the bottle

Think about your design and get sticking!!

Remember to keep turning the bottle so it is not too heavy designed on one side.

Fill it with water and some lovely pink carnations

place on your kitchen windowsill ready to delight!

Count down

After returning from a lovely weekend at the seaside the count down has begun until school starts back here in the UK which also means I'm back to work! Arrgghh!
It was so lovely to sit and relax in the sunshine - unfortunately my camera broke so I had to take photos with my phone! Now 2 mega pixels is not the best and I need to work out how to get the photos off the phone! If anyone has any suggestions of a good digital camera that they use that is also fairly easy on the purse I would love to know!

Just as I was leaving for my seaside break I could not believe my eyes when I was featured on "Just a girl"!!!

So welcome, put your feet up, have a cup of tea and come say hello if you have found me from over there. Thank you to Chris at Just a Girl - fantastic blog, amazing ideas, makeovers, gorgeous home, and a lovely family! Plus an amazing array of spray paint, my new addiction!
I promise to get round to everyone who has left a comment or sent an email! I am not ignoring you - I promise.

Exhibition - my little corner!

So here they are finally! A few images of all my textile printing bits and pieces displayed in the exhibition! The evening class was such fun and it was great to display it all at the end for a few days!

More photos over on flickr!

Hand printed + Handmade

So here is the cushion, and as of yet, the only item that I have made from my hand printed fabric!

In preparation for my evening class exhibition I had visions of making lots of different items out of the fabric but ran out of time! So the evening before I dashed home and whipped this up quickly. Although there was no plan I am really pleased with how it turned out.
The front is slightly padded and the back is sections of the same print in a different colourway.

I'm thinking cushions might be my thing!

From Sewing reels to fabric!

This was my favourite technique learnt at my textiles evening class - using photo sensitive emulsion to screen print.
I had to find an image to use on my screen. Now I wanted the fabric to be me so there was no chance of just using an Internet or book image so I went around my house taking loads of photos to be used as an image. This was my favourite:

I then decided to try out some text so typed up a bit of textiles related wording.
Then it was onto the screen:

Prepping up my fabric ready to go!

Then screen printing madly with a range of colours and I absolutely love the result!!

A close up shot of a piece that I then made into something. Check in tomorrow to see the results!
