It arrived at last!!

I've been waiting to post about this for ages but it appears that the post from the UK to Australia takes a bit longer than advertised!!
Well finally I'm pleased to say that my swap partner Feli received the parcel that I sent and I am really pleased that she liked it. I also couldn't believe it when Feli posted her favourite colour was red after I had made it!!
The swap organised by Maria at One Hour Craft was fab.
I got my parcel from Feli ages ago and it is just great! I look forward to taking part in more swaps and maybe even organising one through my blog if enough people are interested!?

Here's a few photos - I kind of made the bag up as I went along (it was a bit of a fluke that it's reversible) and once it was finished it was kind of hard to give it up, but I just love wrapping up presents and goodies and making cute little parcels to send away!

Busy, busy, busy!!

Where has all my time gone?
I think that's a question we (or I) ask ourselves each day!
Well the weekend went by very quickly, although it was lots of fun!
I found this treasure in the cupboard at the weekend which made me smile. It's such a cute little planner I bought several years ago to jot down all my plans and crafty things, but as you can see it's empty not that I haven't been crafting just I haven't had the time to jot anything down!!

I'm really glad also that my parcel to Feli (she's an even busier girl than me at the moment!) finally arrived and can not wait to post a few pictures of what I sent her as part of the One Hour Craft Tote bag swap. I'm really pleased that she liked what I sent!

Love my new bag!!

In one of my previous posts I talked about some lovely caramel brown tweed fabric that I picked up from a Charity (Thrift) shop. I was so excited about this as our charity stores in the UK (or at least where I am) are a bit lacking on exciting fabric finds or vintage craft items, unlike the amazing finds in Thrift stores that I read about on other craft blogs. So after a wash and press I had a little plan for it and here it is.....

I absolutely love it! The fabric is so soft and although the lining is a different brown I love that as well. I also dug deep in my wardrobe and found the little fabric corsage that I bought from The Gap several years ago and I'm amazed how well it finishes off the bag!

Okay confession - I am a bag addict and this is now my favourite in my collection! I am just hoping that my parcel to my tote bag swap partner Feli organised through One Hour Craft turns up soon so as I can post the photos of that little bag as well! Don't want to spoil the surprise yet!

That Monday feeling!

Well been staring at the computer trying to find the energy to compose a post and then start some work! I appear to have brain ache at the moment after being back at work today!! Have completed crafting projects to post about but unfortunately have not taken any photos yet (and it's too dark now!) and it's much easier to explain craft projects with a nice little photo.

Anyway yesterday indulged in another one of my enjoyments cooking! Had a lovely little recipe book for Christmas and had not tried out any recipes as of yet, partly because it's one of those books with no photos and I do like to see what I'm making but gave a recipe a go and came out with this lovely banana tea bread!! It tastes and smells lovely and is great with a cup of tea!!

Talking about lovely smells my Hyacinths are just blossoming and the smell is addictive!!

Just previewed my post and from the first sentence trying to think of something to write it's amazing what babble I have come up with - well must go and do some work now (or maybe a nice cup of tea and slice of cake!!)

Spending spree!

Well it's been a busy weekend! Couple of projects finished, plus a lovely spending spree for new materials! Lovely new fabrics, some very cute ribbons and beautiful buttons. There was so much more I could have added to my basket but I just had to stop myself! I just have to decide what to do with them now!!

As well as my fabric crafts I love working with other materials and finally got round to completing these assortment of bracelets.

Hi - yes I've only been posting for a few days and already I've had a change!!
I'm still getting use to this and learning as I go along, so be prepared for changes, but that's the fun of it! (Isn't it?)

Well no craft news today but hopefully will have some to post about tomorrow - had loads of projects on the go at once and a few are near completion!

Thanks to those people (they know who they are) for the lovely comments and emails with encouragement and kind words about my new blog!

It's good to know there's someone out there!

Just a quick post today as a busy crafting afternoon - but had to show this off to everyone!
Thanks to the One Hour Craft bag swap organised by Maria, I met my swap partner Feli over at absolutfeli and this morning the postman arrived with her parcel.
It's fantastic! Feli is extremely talented and very generous (look at all the extra goodies I got for a bag swap!!). For both of us it's our first swap so we were both a little nervous, but here's to many more! Some people say that I'm quite particular when it comes to my style likes and dislikes but the bag and goodies are so spot on! You mind reader Feli!
Just going to treat you to one photo today and then you'll have to pop back for more!

Thanks Feli - you're great!

The reason for setting up this blog was to share and swap craft projects with others, so less about the weather and here we go .....
It's been a busy day crafting!
I love the blog Allsorts by Jenny Harris and particularly her Scotty Stuffie pattern that she has kindly made available. So this afternoon thought I would have a go at making my own. I'm really pleased with the end result, I decided to use a caramel brown cord fabric to give it a bit of texture. He's quite a tiny one at 16cm tall so was a bit fiddly at times!

I been meaning to make some sort of wallet/pouch type thing for ages to hold bits of paper, coupons etc to stick in my bag. Voila! I used PVC type fabric for the outer and cotton for the lining. I am really pleased with the outcome and it's already filled. Will be a great little travel pouch for passport etc aswell.
One tip when sewing the PVC is to use freezer paper or baking paper to cover the fabric as this prevents it sticking to the machine, which gets really annoying!

One more thing before I go, need a rest after all this crafting - I love seeing other people's pictures of thrift stores finds and the amazing things they do with them. Our thrift (charity) stores over here are not so filled with crafters delights but amazingly I found this tweed fabric for £2. Not sure what to do with it yet but couldn't let it go!

These two arrived in the post the other day and how cute!
Unazukin dolls - someone else to listen to stories and questions and give you a yes or no answer with a nod or shake of their heads!

Amazing how quickly the weather changes - no snow left but glorious sunshine today!
