Exciting new project!

Although we lost an hour over the weekend (that I desperately needed!) it wasn't all that bad when I received a lovely delivery of a new exciting project that I ordered!!

I managed to find a place in the UK where I could order Amy Butler's lovely patterns! So my new project is attempting to make the weekender bag!
I popped out to start looking for fabrics and managed to come back with a few assortments, not sure which one I'll use yet! I seem to be a fabric-holic at the moment (see my flickr album for proof!) I can't wait to get started!

Came downstairs to this lovely sight this morning! The gorgeous enamel jug I picked up recently at the Country Living Fair. What a lovely start to the week - have a good one everyone!

To be young again!

Why is it as you get older time seems to get shorter?
I'm not quite sure where the days and weeks seem to go at the moment, but they are going somewhere very quickly!!
I was thinking the other day about when I was at school and just seemed to have so much time to do things. I used to love being crafty at the weekends and even did a couple of evening classes before leaving school. One of them was in Silk Painting which I have not turned my hand to in ages. I remember when I was about 16 I took part in my first exhibition of my work and even sold some of my pieces!! When I think back now I so wish I'd had a digital camera to take a snap shot of the memories and see how my craft has evolved! This is why now I always try to remember to take a quick picture whether it be an item for myself or something I'm giving away!
So this leads on to these photos....

This was a 1/2 hour craft project as my friend was coming around and I'd had this idea in my mind to make a little hanging door sign, cushion thing to go alongside the bought present for her little boy. I was really pleased with the end product as I kind of made it all up as I went along due to the time limit. I just love that numbers fabric! It even made me think I could make these personalised little cushions / hanging signs to sell!?
Maybe one day when I have more time!!

Time flys!

It's been more than busy at work recently so posting has unfortunately been the last thing on my mind, also so has any craft!
I'm going to try and get myself back on track... but to keep me going I received a lovely package of goodies from Ilysa as part of the Fat Quarters Fabric Swap over on Flickr. I love the fabrics and the cute polymer clay buttons!! All I need to do now is get back to crafting!!

Yesterday I managed to get down to the Country Living Spring Fair in London which was fab! So many talented people and inspiration! I also met Samantha of Plump Pudding who had such a cute stand and gorgeous items for sale! It was lovely to say Hi and I hope the fair was a great success!

Spring time!!

It's been a gorgeous day today - it's amazing what a bit of sunshine can do to people. Everyone seems to have a smile on their face!
Talking of Spring time these lovely Spring catalogues dropped through my letter box today.

I suddenly feel a spending spree!!

Even a trip to the supermarket was fun today after buying a box of sandwich bags with cute little stickers in to make your lunch more exciting!!

x With Love x

I just love making my little lavender scented filled hearts. They take very little time to prepare and finish, smell absolutely lovely and make cute little presents as they can be placed in wardrobes, airing cupboards, clothes drawers or even smelly shoes!!

With Mothers Day coming up shortly they are an ideal mini gift, so thought I would share a quick tutorial! They are very easy to make and I always find seeing images rather than loads of words much easier to follow. Have fun x
You will need a couple of pieces of felt, small section of ribbon, a button, embroidery thread and lavender filling, plus your usual sewing equipment.

Draw yourself a heart template and copy this onto the felt. Cut out two identical hearts.

To make the hanging ribbon, stitch the ribbon onto the back of one heart section. Add the button for additional decoration.

Join the two hearts together and stitch around the edges using blanket stitch. Remember to leave a small gap towards the end to insert the filling.

Once the filling is inside and your happy with the fullness finish the stitching. Voila!!

As you can see great in lots of colours and different sizes. The small ones I sometimes also attach a magnet to the back and they are great as room fresheners on a radiator.

Monkey business!!

It's been a bit quiet on the craft front lately as I have been sourcing materials and collecting inspiration.
Today was a craft free day as I needed to catch up with house things and my weekly shopping.

It's amazing what you can pick up at the supermarket these days!
Meet this little fella. How cute!

Little knitted monkey is part of an advertising campaign for tea bags and while wandering the aisles of the supermarket he caught my attention. I just had to have him, plus he came with a box of tea which I needed. Staple in my diet - I'd hate to think how many bags I get through a year!!

Tonight's a special night as well - I've just had a peek outside and seen the lunar eclipse. It's fab!!

By the way thanks to fellow bloggers for their lovely comments and emails recently about my new blog. I've been going for a couple of weeks now and it's nice to know that there are people out there interested in what I'm doing (or rambling on about!). Makes it all worth while, plus great meeting new people! x

Toastie Toes!!

I love hopping around (not literally!) and reading other blogs and have been inspired by the lovely quilts that everyone is making and thought I must get myself into action and think about one to snuggle under for cold nights in front of the TV.
I love coming home from work, pottering around the house and then getting cosy in front of the TV. At the moment I tend to hide under an old blanket but can now also cosy up with my new slippers!!
These were a special treat last week and I love them!
An exciting mixture of knitting, crochet and felted leaves.
