Organising and Planning

Yes today has been about organising and planning!!
The Christmas tree and decorations are down and returned to the loft for another year, which meant a good dust, hoover and clean of the whole house! It felt pretty good :)
My little sewing space has had a clean and tidy prepped and ready and I finally got round to opening and filling out my new diary!

Sadly planning has not been for any exciting sewing project but for back to work on Monday!! Arrgghh - early mornings, planning, planning and more planning! One of my goals for 2014 is to try and maintain some kind of work/life balance, it's been pretty much a goal every year but never goes as planned but this year I'm going to work my hardest at getting it right!!

Happy New Year!!

Happy 2014!!
Hope the start of the new year has treated you well?! It's been a dark, wet and windy one here today so sadly the traditional New Years day walk has been postponed but time was used to start planning the new year with some decoration to my sewing/blog/crafty adventures planner!

I've got a few swaps I need to get going on so I've been busy jotting down ideas. A couple of my last makes of 2013 were for swaps too!
At the December meeting of the London Modern Quilt Guild we swapped needle books with members of the Vancouver Modern Quilt Guild. This was a really fun swap with amazing talent and thanks to Shevvy and Krista for organising the swap.
I made two books but somehow forgot to take photos, however arquilters kindly gave me permission to use her photo of one of the books I made.

I picked out of the bag two lovely books, the top one by happysewlucky which even has a little pocket where I found some extra goodies and the lovely bottom one which I am not yet sure who sent it.

The other swap was Coloradolady's Secret Santa Soiree. As part of the swap my secret partner had hinted at a homemade item possibly a pincushion so I made a jewel box pincushion using a great tutorial at The Sewing Chick. I think I'll be making a few more of these!
